Emails resuming!

Welcome back to High on Christ! I started this email newsletter years ago. And stopped. And started again. And stopped. And here we are, starting again.

You’re subscribed to High on Christ, where I break down the biggest news of the week for Christians who want to stay informed without losing perspective.

And to remind you Jesus is King.

Let’s go!

The Bullets

  • Trump tells Israel “Stop.” Trump told Israel to stop striking Iran’s energy sites after a hit on a major gas field escalated tensions and rattled global energy markets.

  • One law to rule them all: The White House released a national AI framework pushing Congress to override the patchwork of state laws with one unified federal AI rulebook.

  • Europe’s power bill panic: The Iran conflict is already hitting Europe, with gas and electricity prices spiking hardest in countries most dependent on imports like Italy and Hungary.

  • Big tech’s nuclear bet: Amazon, Google, and Microsoft are racing to secure nuclear energy deals to power massive AI data centers as electricity demand explodes.

  • TikTok’s $10 billion question: A U.S. senator is pressing the White House over whether TikTok investors will be required to pay $10 billion to the government as part of a deal to keep the app running.

The decision is yours

Confusing, jargon-packed, and time-consuming. Or quick, direct, and actually enjoyable.

Easy choice.

There’s a reason over 4 million professionals read Morning Brew instead of traditional business media. The facts hit harder, it’s built to be skimmed, and for once, business news is something you actually look forward to reading.

Your router could be a zombie

Your router could be helping hackers without you knowing.
How is that even possible?
They break in through weak security and install malware.
Your internet still works, but your device is also working for them.
Doing what exactly?
Sending huge bursts of traffic with millions of other devices.
Like flooding a store with fake customers so real people can’t get in.
So websites get overwhelmed and shut down?
Exactly, or slowed until they’re unusable.
And this is happening from normal homes?
Yeah, routers and cameras all over the world.
That’s actually unsettling.
It is, something normal being used for something it wasn’t meant for.
Makes you think.
If there was no sin, would we even need passwords?
Probably not. No one would be trying to break in.
Crazy how much of tech is just defense.
Yeah, protecting ourselves from each other.

Spiritual Perspective

Nations trying to control each other.
Governments trying to control AI.
Hackers trying to control your routers.

Ultimately, God controls the destiny of every person. Though the heart of man plans his way, the Lord establishes his steps (Prov 16:9).
