Welcome to another crazy week! One second the church is praising, the next the tent is on the ground. Geopolitical “breakthroughs” announced while both sides spin the story differently. The world never slows down.

You’re here for the straight talk filtered through Scripture and the powerful reminder that our King reigns over every sudden collapse and every confusing headline.

Let’s go!

The Bullets

  • Church Tent Collapses During Service: An elderly man was killed and over 20 injured when high winds collapsed a large tent during an outdoor anniversary service and concert at East Lake Community Church in Moneta, Virginia.

  • Iran Deal Reached Amid Confusion: President Trump announced a preliminary framework with Iran to end hostilities and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, but both sides are offering conflicting accounts of the terms as a 60-day ceasefire begins.

  • SpaceX Sued Over Texas Wildlife Refuge: Conservation and tribal groups filed suit to block the transfer of 715 acres of protected refuge land to SpaceX, warning of harm to endangered species.

  • Netanyahu Rejects Lebanon Withdrawal: Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu said he will not pull back forces from Lebanon despite apparent conflict with the new U.S.-Iran framework.

When the Storm Hit the Sanctuary

Did you hear about the church in Virginia?
No, what happened?
A big tent collapsed during their outdoor anniversary service. An elderly man died and over twenty people were injured.
During the service? That’s awful.
Yeah. A storm with really high winds came through fast. The whole tent just came down.
Why does something like that happen at church? It feels especially wrong.
Storms don’t check if you’re worshiping. We live in a broken world.
Still… it hits different when it’s during church.
It does. But Jesus told us we’d have trouble in this world. He also said He’s overcome it.
John 16:33. That verse is hitting hard right now.
Yeah. These moments make me long for the new creation even more.
I’m going to pray for the families and that church tonight.
Same. God is still sovereign even when the wind knocks things down.

Spiritual Perspective

Tents collapse while people are singing to Jesus. In a broken world, even worship isn’t safe from the storm.

But the Shepherd who let the sky go dark on the cross doesn’t stand far off when the wind hits His people. He’s still on the throne—and He’s still with us in the wreckage.
