Welcome back to High on Christ! According to one podcast, some of you reading this newsletter are a "problem." We'll get into it. But first…

Here's what the world is up to.

The Bullets

  • The war grows: For the sixth night in a row, America bombed Iran, this time hitting bridges and an airport. Iran fired back at American sites in Bahrain, Kuwait and Syria, and U.S. Marines boarded a tanker in the Strait of Hormuz.

  • No justice, 12 years later: Pakistan's top court freed the last three men convicted of burning a Christian couple alive in 2014 over a false blasphemy charge. More than 100 others had already walked free.

  • Angels, demons, or fake?: On Joe Rogan's podcast, Vice President JD Vance said that if powerful alien-like beings are real, history would have called them angels or demons. He added that many alien stories are probably just fake.

  • Christian Broadway, on your couch: Sight & Sound's giant Bible stage shows, like Jesus, Moses and Queen Esther, start streaming on Prime Video July 30, with a new one every two weeks through the fall.

A "Crazy Christian Problem"

An atheist podcaster just called homeschooling "trickle-down stupidity"
Her words. And that America has a "crazy Christian problem"
I mean. I've met some homeschool kids. They can be a little different.
She said the problem is Bible-study families and "the freaks of the megachurch"
Ok, that's not an argument. That's just insulting Christians.
Right. Then the Department of Education jumped in lol
Actual quote: "The only thing that is stupid is your ignorance"
The government posted that?? On X??
Official account.
So everyone's name-calling now. Great.
The show is literally called I've Had It btw
Of course it is.
Honest question though. Would you homeschool your kids?
Honestly? If our local school was bad enough, maybe.
That's the whole point. Parents get to decide.
Fair. Somebody tell the podcast ladies.
No need. They've had it.

Spiritual Perspective

Getting mocked for raising kids in the faith is nothing new, and neither is the temptation to fire insults back. But "let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt" (Colossians 4:6). Stand firm for your family, and let the name-calling stay someone else's hobby.

Inspiring Quote

There are two equal and opposite errors into which our race can fall about the devils. One is to disbelieve in their existence. The other is to believe, and to feel an excessive and unhealthy interest in them.

- C.S. Lewis
