Welcome back to High on Christ! Word association time. I say "rainbow," you say... whatever just popped into your head. Go on, nobody's watching.

Whatever you pictured, a few big-league pitchers had something a lot older in mind this week. Like, Book-of-Genesis older.

But we're getting ahead of ourselves. There's a whole world of news to get through first, and somehow it keeps pointing back to the same King.

Let’s go!

Covenant on the Cap

ok the giants pride night thing is all over my feed
the bible verse hats
Yeah. The team handed everyone rainbow caps for Pride Night, and a few of the pitchers wrote a Bible verse on theirs instead.
lol of course they did
which verse
Genesis 9. Where the rainbow first shows up, as the sign of God's covenant after the flood.
wow. so they pointed the rainbow back to God's covenant
Basically. The night was set up to promote LGBTQ+ ideology, and instead of just going along with it, they reminded everyone the rainbow was God's first.
thats actually bold
It is. And one of them said there was no hate in it at all. He wasn't attacking anyone, just refusing to let the symbol mean only one thing.
Major League Baseball still gave them a warning, though. Apparently a Bible verse crosses a line, but the rainbow campaign doesn't.
a senator literally wrote the league over it
we live in a wild time lol
We do. But I love that they didn't pick a fight or post a rant. They just quietly wrote the truth and let it stand.
ok now im wondering what id have the guts to write on mine
That's the better question.

Spiritual Perspective

Three pitchers, a few inches of fabric, and a verse about a rainbow, and suddenly the whole league is talking. Conviction rarely needs a megaphone; sometimes it just needs a Sharpie.

Genesis 9 points to a God who keeps His promises, and the rainbow was His sign long before it was anything else. However the headlines spin it, our call stays the same: hold the faith with grace, no hate, and let it show even in the small places.

We are not at peace with others because we are not at peace with ourselves, and we are not at peace with ourselves because we are not at peace with God.
