Welcome back to High on Christ! Have you ever prayed for healing, and nothing seemed to happen? But you still do it anyways, because God calls us to be faithful to depend on Him?

Remain faithful. This one girl did. But we’ll get to that in a bit.

Here is what the world is up to.

The Bullets

  • A student's worst nightmare: During a training flight in Argentina, an instructor reportedly told his 22-year-old student "you know what you have to do," then opened the door and jumped to his death, leaving her to land the plane alone, which she managed to do.

  • A warning to the states: The Justice Department told election officials in all 50 states they could face criminal charges if they knowingly let noncitizens vote, a push Oregon's secretary of state dismissed as "more threats and no evidence."

  • Busted by their own robotaxi: Two 15-year-olds drinking and firing water beads out of a self-driving Waymo got a shock when the car alerted police and pulled itself into a parking lot, where officers were waiting.

  • No ceasefire anymore: A day after Iran struck ships in the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. launched a second wave of strikes on Iranian coastal targets, with President Trump declaring the ceasefire "over" and warning worse could follow.

The Tenth Day

A 28-year-old Navy vet in Florida just woke up days after doctors had basically declared him gone.
Gone how?
He collapsed from a heart infection, and a brain scan showed his thalamus dark, dead tissue. No hope, they said.
That's devastating.
His family was told to say goodbye. They took him off life support and did the "honor walk," where staff line the halls as a dying patient is wheeled past.
Oh, that's heartbreaking.
But his girlfriend had begged for ten more days to pray. On the tenth day, right after they'd said their goodbyes, the hospital called: he was awake.
Awake awake?
Following his dad with his eyes, smiling, squeezing fingers, even trying a thumbs up. Doctors say his organs are fine.
I don't even know what to say to that.
The family and the chaplain had one word for it. Miracle.

Spiritual Perspective

Not every prayer ends this way, and we hold that honestly. But this week one family got to witness the God who still asks, "Is anything too hard for me?" (Jeremiah 32:27).
