  • "Abortion is a blessing": A Presbyterian minister preached that abortion is "a moral good" while wearing a Planned Parenthood scarf. To be clear, it was one pastor's sermon, not her whole church's stance.

  • Prayer over the crossfire: A gunman opened fire outside a Detroit church funeral and shot five people. Amazingly, everyone survived, all hit only in the legs. The church says its daily noon prayer is why it wasn't far worse.

  • Trade war, weird edition: Trump slapped a 50% tariff on $20 billion of Canadian goods. The target list is a fever dream: wine, cheese, hockey sticks, swimming pools, and yes, wigs. It starts August 19.

  • $3.75 million hand: Luke Skywalker's lightsaber, severed hand still attached, became the priciest Star Wars prop ever sold.

Hallelujah at the World Cup

Did you catch the World Cup halftime show? I missed it
Justin Bieber walked out with just a guitar and sang a worship song
Bieber?? At the World Cup?
"Everything Hallelujah." In front of like 2 billion people.
Huh. From the "Baby" guy, that's a turn.
He's been open about his faith for a while now. Song's basically a list of things he's thankful to God for.
Ok that's not what I expected at a soccer final.
It gets better. Rodri won MVP and thanked "someone up there" for the win.
So God got shoutouts on the stage AND the field.
Biggest audience on earth, and the theme was gratitude to Him.
Kinda beautiful honestly.
That's what a lot of people thought. Not everyone. But a lot.
