Welcome back to High on Christ! Better watch your back when you go to the airport. Even if you're just a regular, every day family man. But first…

Here's what the world is up to.

The Bullets

  • Big Tech's blind spot: Australia's online-safety watchdog says Apple, Google, Meta and others still aren't doing enough to catch predators, even after it fielded more than 2,000 sextortion reports in just six months, most of them from young men.

  • No letup on Iran: For the third night in a row, U.S. forces pounded Iranian military sites along the coast, part of Trump's campaign to stop Iran from hitting ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

  • Fauci in the crosshairs again: Sen. Roger Marshall, a doctor himself, asked the Justice Department to appoint a special counsel to investigate Anthony Fauci, after newly declassified documents reopened the fight over Covid's origins.

  • Deport the "communists"?: President Trump amplified a video urging that NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani and other democratic socialists be "criminalized and deported."

Two Years in the Dark

Did you see China's had an American scientist locked up for almost two years?
No. What happened?
They arrested him at the airport in Beijing on his way back to the States. Charged him with espionage.
Was he actually spying?
Doesn't look like it. He's a seismologist. He studied earthquake data to detect nuclear tests, mostly North Korea's.
Huh. So why would China care about that?
The theory is they want what he knows so they can hide their own tests.
Ok that's actually kind of chilling.
Yeah. And he's been interrogated over a hundred times. Lost like 30 pounds.
Is the U.S. doing anything?
They've called him "wrongfully detained," said getting him out is a priority. But he's still there. No trial.
Two years with no trial is insane. I hadn't heard any of this.
Almost no one has. That's what bugs me about it.
