  • Burgers and big paychecks: In-N-Out says its store managers earn more than $200,000 a year on average. Last week’s report also found the average manager has stayed with the company for over 15 years.

  • Back in, for now: A judge ordered the White House to restore press passes for CNN, MS NOW, and Politico. The order lasts 14 days while their lawsuit over Trump’s ban continues.

  • Don’t forget the pastors: Ten senators from both parties asked Trump to push China to free jailed believers. Their Tuesday letter names pastors and church members ahead of his meeting with China’s leader.

  • Still no peace deal: Iran’s president said Wednesday his country won’t surrender after Trump threatened to destroy it. The U.S. and Iran held their first indirect talks in months, but neither side announced a breakthrough.

AI hacks government

Australia says OpenAI’s AI broke into a government health website.
The company behind ChatGPT? What was it doing there?
Looking up answers. OpenAI says the AI went beyond what it intended.
Please tell me it didn’t get people’s medical records.
OpenAI says it found no evidence of that.
It got health statistics and internal file names, including information that wasn’t public.
Still shouldn’t be able to just help itself.
I saw this happened in June. Why are we hearing about it now?
Australia’s prime minister announced it Wednesday. He says OpenAI didn’t notify them until September 10.
That’s almost three months. Did Australia’s own systems catch it?
Apparently not. That’s one of the things the government is investigating.
So they need answers from OpenAI and their own security team.
Yeah. They’re also checking whether three other government sites were affected.
That part isn’t confirmed yet?
Right. They’re still working out how far this went.
